Hoy mientras viajaba de regreso a mi casa, después de un intenso, intenso día, me dí cuenta de que estoy bastante feliz con el ritmo de vida que llevo: acelerado…

McDonald's don't have the same menu worldwide, each country may or may not have all the items served in the US and some items are available only at selected countries. When you walk into a McDonald's in a foreign location expect exotic items which you may not have seen in your local McDonald's.

Here is a list of items you won't find in the US.

INDIA

In India, selling of beef is prohibited (Hindus revere cows) so you won't find Big Mac's instead you will find Maharaja Mac, which is similar to Big Mac but made of lamb or chicken meat. They also serve a vegetarian burger not found in the US called the McAloo Tikki burger.

NORWAY

In fish-loving Norway, you can find McLaks, a sandwich made of grilled salmon and Dill sauce.

GERMANY

In Germany, you get most of the items find in the US plus they serve German beer, so you can have a Big Mac plus a Pilsner beer.

CANADA

In parts of Canada, they have a lobster item called McLobster, a lobster roll, the same sold as McHomard in French spoken parts of Canada.

JAPAN

In Japan, McDonald's has added many items catered to the locals such as Ebi Filet-O (shrimp burger), Koroke Burger (mashed potato, cabbage and katsu sauce), Ebi-Chiki (shrimp nuggets) and a green tea flavored milkshake. Some of these sound healthy; McDonald's can have similar items here and worldwide.

CHILE

In Chile, burgers are served with avocado paste; no ketchup is used in the burgers.

COSTA RICA

In Costa Rica, McDonald's serve rice. They sell Gallo Pinto which means rice and beans in Spanish.

GREECE

In Greece, burgers are served in pita bread not in buns; they have a Greek Mac, a burger made of patties wrapped in pita bread.

HONG KONG

This is another location, where rice is served. Hong Kong citizens get Rice burgers in McDonald's where the burgers are served between two rice patties rather than on buns.

ISRAEL

McDonald's has 3 kosher restaurants where cheeseburger and dairy products are not served because Jewish Law forbids serving "the child [cow/beef] in its mother's milk [dairy]." They have McShawarma, meat in a pita bread roll.

URUGUAY

In Uruguay, McDonald's has McHuevo (Huevo is eggs in Spanish), a regular hamburger but topped with a poached egg.

Some of the above items look much better and healthy, which the McDonald's can incorporate here in the US and worldwide. Have you encountered such things in a foreign location of McDonald's?

Independence Day

A lot has changed since the last time I attend our greatest party: The Independence Day. The last year I wasn’t around here and I didn’t know about the terrorism events that happened.

On Tuesday, I was impressed by all the security I faced at Queretaro, I took some pics:

 

 

First we have to form a line in order to enter to the main plaza, it wasn’t really nice… I was shocked!!!

 

Then, we have to pass through a metal detector gate. The guard over there asked me to raise my shirt in order to check my buckle…  just like a concert!

 

When we were finally in the main plaza, there were a lot of guys with those “DID” jackets and the legend: Investigator…

 

Finally in the Mayor’s building, there where two guys standing in the roof…

15 de septiembre

La historia comienza hace dos años cuando estaba en Puebla o Oaxaca, sentado afuera de un bar en la plaza central del estado en pleno 15 de septiembre. El lugar estaba abarrotado con los tan comunes puestos nacionales de comida típica, que olía muy bien, pero que no pude degustar debido a mi antojo por una hamburguesa de Burger King.

Las doce se acercaban y mi humor (siempre cambiante) me hizo sentirme raro... no estaba feliz ni cómodo, mientras que todas las demás personas (incluso mi familia) lo era. Entonces, empecé a ver mi entorno críticamente y con cierto disgusto... caras pintadas con los colores nacionales, sombreros, playeras, trompetas, siluetas de personajes nacionales con luces, adornos en las calles... todo era tricolor.

Las campanadas empezaron a sonar y la voz del gobernador gritaba ¡VIVA MEXICO!, mientras que todos los demás lo coreaban VIVA, fue cuando sentí mas aberracion por mi pueblo. Y… empecé a preguntarme, ¿cuántos de los que están gritando saben la historia del país?, ¿cuántos lo respetan?¿cuántos?

El mexicano, es nacionalista en dos situaciones: Cuando juega La Seleccion y el 15 de septiembre. La razón de mi disgusto es que los otros dias en los que no estaba presente ninguno de esos dos factores, mi pueblo es malinchista, y en lugar de apoyar a nuestro pais y ser más competitivos internacionalmente, más éticos, más legales, hacemos todo lo contrario, buscamos como hacer tranza, como impedir que nuestro país sea exitoso.

¿Y  qué hago yo para cambiarlo? Cada día intento ser un mejor mexicano.

Friday night

Sometimes I wish I could have a time machine and go back. Again, I cannot remember what happened I was focused on what I wanted, but then I screw it up. Why? I don’t even have an answer, it was something that I really wanted to happen, and now, everything is gone.

I’ve made a promise to myself, that was my last mistake, from now on, I’ll change.

Sometimes (i.e. today) I feel a bit sad, because I’m looking desperately for “someone” to share my time with, my thoughts, or whatever… the problem is that “someone” hasn’t showed up and it’s quite annoying to keep waiting…

I’ve never been single for this long, I do not like to be lonely…I cannot explain it to myself: how come I want a partner that much! …and the worst part: I’m not dating anyone in a “serious way”

It is probably because I am planning to leave Mexico again and I cannot establish a “formal” relationship with someone… my “inner me” still feels guilty of the way I acted the last year… I was so selfish…

My last year in the university has started, and somehow is boring…
